Brief: 'To design and create a wildlife pond in a rural Essex garden. A pontoon to practice yoga on and enjoy a evening drink, a bog garden to enhance the diversity in the flora, and a refined yet colourful planting scheme that would attract wildlife.'

 

Initially we sited a suitable spot in the garden, before we set about exploring the design and landscaping elements. Drift wood was foraged from the gardens grounds to trick the mind that this pond had been present in the garden from its beginning. Oak planks where used to construct the pontoon and careful consideration was taken not to be over elaborate in its finish.  We used the spoil from the pond excavation to sculpt the land and create interest with walkways meandering through.
