HARD LANDSCAPER

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled hard landscaper to join our established garden management company and become part of our friendly team of qualified and experienced landscapers. As Hard Landscaper you'll assist with the construction on a selection of outstanding client gardens and commercial grounds within the Essex countryside. We have two yard locations based in Essex - Danbury, Chelmsford & Great Bardfield, Braintree; our landscape teams work on location in and around these areas.

About you

The ideal candidate has an understanding of site preparations, ground works and construction to a contractual time scale. In addition, you will be confidant in setting out the ground works from technical drawings and plans, and capable of delivering a high standard of landscaping practice. It is important that you bring a proactive and flexible approach to the role, the ability to work on your own initiative, and you are team driven with a strong work ethic. It is preferable that you have a recognised landscape qualification and professional landscaping experience from working in private gardens and/or commercial grounds.

 

We are open to discussions with newly qualified candidates as well as those who are more experienced. We are able to offer a competitive salary for the right candidate, dependent upon experience and qualifications.

Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities as a Hard Landscaper will include:

  • General ground works and garden construction - 

      Paving, slabs and cobbles/ Small brick and block walls/ Fencing and decking/ Wood works and garden structures/

      Paths and edging/ Garden lighting/ Irrigation systems/ Water features and ponds

  • Assisting with carrying and moving plants, materials, tools, equipment, and heavy loads

  • Using a range of equipment and machinery for garden construction

  • Building client relationships, maintaining and improving client satisfaction

Candidate knowledge/skills/experience/qualities:

  • Good knowledge of landscaping materials, installation and working with technical drawings and plans

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional landscaping experience

  • Knowledge and use of equipment and machinery

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Cooperative and enthusiastic nature

  • Confident communicating with clients and assisting with queries

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Attention to detail and pride in work

  • Maintains a high standard of work

  • Creative, innovative and efficient at work

  • Conscientious, organised and with good time management

  • Keen to develop in their role and undertake training

Salary:

From £28,000 per annum

  • 45hours/week - day shift

   • A full clean driving licence - a company van is provided to travel to clients' gardens
